James its a feature on Friendfeed Beta where you subscribe to someones feed, but then change a setting where it never shows up on the service. It shows up like they are a mutual friend who reads your content when they are mostly committing a selfish act to look good even though they are not reading it. ---Like people who buy a bunch of books they don't read because it looks good. I keep forgetting you still haven't signed up for FF man.

I fake follow this site daily. Oh, wait, that means I have to daily come here to not follow it. That's like a judge telling a convict he'll sentence him to 6 years if he tells a lie, 4 years if he tells the truth, so the convict tells the judge that he will be sentenced to 6 years. If he is telling the truth, then the judge has to sentence him to 4 years, thusly making the statement false, which would sentence the convict to 6 years, but again that'd make the statement true. The judge finally just said "Screw this, you're executed at high noon"

Some people say the judge let him go free because of that, but I like my version better.

So I totally just didn't follow anything about this post.

Fake following just goes against the whole point of Social Media. If you don't want to be social, don't try to fake it. This is the internet, you have the option to not bother.

I'm mostly annoyed by the fact that you have to do something to fake follow. You don't have time to do something, so you take extra time to not do it.
I get why its done, its just ridiculously self serving and arrogant.
